Foundations, industry research groups and institutions can fund the Council's programmes, publications and convenings. Sponsorship supports capacity — it never purchases influence over findings. Editorial control rests solely with the Council and its reviewing Fellows.

Sponsor a Doctoral Programme Cohort
Fund places on a doctoral leadership cohort for candidates from under-resourced institutions or regions.
Acknowledgement
- Named as supporting organisation in the cohort record
- Annual report on cohort composition and completion
- Invitation to the closing capstone session
Sponsor a Working Paper Series
Support a themed series of Council working papers on a defined question, from evidence review through publication.
Acknowledgement
- Funding acknowledgement printed in each paper
- Advance copies at embargo, without editorial rights
- A public briefing on the completed series
Sponsor an Academic Leadership Initiative
Underwrite a multi-year initiative — a regional doctoral network, a methodology clinic programme, or a convening series.
Acknowledgement
- Named sponsorship of the initiative
- Standing liaison with the Council Secretariat
- Recognition at associated convenings
Independence safeguards
The value of the Council's work depends entirely on its independence. These safeguards are binding on the Secretariat and are published so that sponsors, Fellows and the public can hold the Council to them.
- Sponsors have no role in selecting Council findings, conclusions or recommendations.
- Sponsors do not review, approve or delay Council publications.
- Sponsors receive no membership standing, recognition or voting rights through funding.
- All sponsorship is disclosed in the outputs it supports and in the Council's annual statement.
- The Council declines funding that is conditional on a predetermined outcome or that would compromise its neutrality.
- No single sponsor may fund a majority share of the Council's annual operating budget.
Support doctoral leadership where it is needed most
Write to the Secretariat with the initiative you wish to support. Every sponsorship is set out in a written agreement that records the independence safeguards above.
