Who Can Participate

Doctoral Qualifications

Participation in the International Doctoral Council is open to individuals holding recognized doctoral degrees, including PhD, DBA, MD (with research component), DPhil, EngD, EdD, and equivalent doctoral-level qualifications from accredited institutions.

The emphasis is on the rigor of training, the capacity for independent research, and demonstrated commitment to evidence-based reasoning, rather than specific disciplinary backgrounds.

Merit-Based Selection

The Council is selective and merit-based. It is not a mass membership organization, but rather a carefully curated network of doctoral leaders recognized for intellectual integrity, methodological rigor, and contributions to their fields.

Selection criteria include: demonstrated expertise, publication record, track record of evidence-based engagement, commitment to neutrality and independence, and alignment with the Council's principles and values.

Independence and Integrity

Participants must act in their individual epistemic capacity, not as representatives of institutions, governments, or corporations. They must demonstrate independence from partisan, ideological, or commercial pressures.

Integrity is non-negotiable. Participants must commit to transparency, disclosure of conflicts of interest, and adherence to the Council's Code of Conduct.

Global Perspective

The Council seeks doctoral leaders from diverse geographic, cultural, and disciplinary backgrounds, recognizing that complex global challenges require perspectives that transcend national and ideological boundaries.

Diversity is not pursued for symbolic purposes, but because it strengthens the quality of analysis and the legitimacy of the Council's guidance.
